Beauty Tips in the 1960s
Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog!
Today I am going to be writing about Beauty Tips that girls followed in the 1960's. This is one of my favorite eras and had some of the best beauty icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Twiggy and Brigette Bardot.
1. A big focus for makeup in the 60's was the eyes as opposed to the previous decades where the focus of makeup was the lips. Eyeliner and fake eyelashes began to make an appearance in the 1960's.
2. Voluminous hair became a big thing in the 50's but still carried through into the 60's.
3. Bleaching hair was a huge trend in the 1960's as the blonde bombshell became the look that everybody wanted to achieve due to stars Marilyn Monroe and Brigette Bardot.
4. The average skincare for a middle class girl in the 60's was to wash her face with Pear's soap and then cleanse every night using Pond's Cold Cream.
5. Whilst previous decades all adored the red lip the 1960's was when pale and nude lips started to become popular within the beauty community.
Thank you everyone for reading! I hope you all enjoyed this post!
