Beauty Icon: Marilyn Monroe
Happy Saturday everyone! This blog post I've decided to talk about one of the biggest beauty icons over the past 70 years and that is Marilyn Monroe. She was an icon during the 50's and 60's but even since her death there hasn't really been anyone to match up to her. Here are some of the beauty tips and tricks Marilyn loved.
1. Marilyn would apply thick layers of Vaseline or Nivea creme under her makeup to give herself a youthful dewy glow. She would rarely ever apply powder to face.
2. Marilyn used to wash her face 5 times a day because she was so scared of blemishes, this obviously dried out her skin a lot hence why she used thick amounts of Vaseline and Nivea.
3. Marilyn used to cut her false eyelashes in half and only apply them to the outer half of her eye as that created the more sleepy eye effect.
4. Marilyn used 5 different lipsticks to contour her lips using the darker shades around the edge and the lighter in the middle making the effect of larger lips.
5. Marilyn rarely washed her hair to keep the blonde from fading, she religiously used baby powder on her hair to keep it looking fresh.
Thank you all for reading. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much I enjoyed finding it out. I will have a new blog post up on Monday.
