My Experience: Bleaching My Hair
Hello everyone welcome back to another blog post. This going to be a post that is going to have a part 2 as the experience isn't over for me yet.
In this blog post I am going to be talking about my first experience bleaching my own hair at home. So I dye my hair myself very often, but never bleached before. Last time I used a box dye (Black) was July 2017. I've been letting my hair repair and recover for the past 7 months and been using deep conditioning treatments twice a week.
So last night I bought a bleach dye. I diluted it slightly with shampoo to decrease the strength as I didn't want my hair to fall out as I've seen many times happen with home bleaching. I applied bleach to the bottom half of my hair for 20 minutes before applying to the top 4 inches of my head which was all virgin hair. After 15 minutes with it on my roots and 35 minutes on the bottom of my hair I washed it out.
The top of my hair is now blonde and the bottom is a warm golden brown. Which obviously isn't what I was going for but from black hair I was definitely impressed.
I am bleaching my hair again in 2 weeks time. I will be deep conditioning my hair 3 times a week to make sure its as least damaged as possible and I will also be using coconut oil in my hair for an hour or so, twice a week to restore moisture and reduce breakage. Next time though I am going to be leaving it on the ends of my hair for 45 minutes and only 5 minutes on the top.
I'm pretty proud of how my hair is still in good condition. But I will update you guys with a Part 2 in about 2-3 weeks time.
Thank you all for reading I hope you enjoyed!
